We LOVE surprise proposal shoots!
This is where Laurel’s love for considering every minuscule detail and Brian’s adventure planning background really shine.
Before the session, we’ll:
Help you select the perfect location based on what you’re looking for: An adventurous hiking proposal? A romantic seaside moment? A sunset cliffside surprise? A quiet proposal surrounded by evergreens?
Help come up with the cover story so your partner won’t suspect a thing.
Advise on clothing choices.
Scout each location down to the exact rock or stick you’ll stand on.
Send you maps, photos/videos, and detailed instructions so you know exactly where to be, when to get there, what direction to face, where we’ll be hiding, and the secret signal to know we’re ready.
Discuss whether you want to enhance your session with our special add-ons, like champagne toasts, coffee and pastries for morning sessions, personalized bouquets, or photos/letters to mark the proposal spot. See our menu of add-ons for more information!
“I cannot say enough great things about Laurel & Brian. I booked them both for a proposal and engagement shoot in Bar Harbor, ME a bit last minute since after I unfortunately had an unexpected drop out. I wished I had found them from the very start given how professional they were.
Not only did they get back to me in record time but I spoke with Brian on the phone at first and he took the time to put me at ease and walk me through the process. When I followed up over email, Laurel made amazing suggestions on where the best spots are along the Shore Path and pictures/tips on where to stand. They were also able to accommodate and be flexible with times which I had trouble with previously with the other photographers I spoke with.
The moment went perfectly and they managed to get amazing shots of us both wide angle and zoomed. I would definitely recommend the hour session afterwards since we were able to walk down the shore path with them and take more shots & poses together.”

After the session, we’ll:
Hand edit your photos and upload to a private password-protected gallery.
Share the gallery with you so you can order the photos you want and share the link with anyone you’d like.
“Literally amazing! Laurel and Brian were the perfect people for our engagement photos. Contacted them and they responded almost immediately. We spoke for about 15 minutes during our first call and they were so nice and could tell they truly cared about our photo shoot. Prior to us coming up to bar harbor they were very communicable and were emailing me about potential locations. They went to the location we agreed upon a couple days before to make sure the lighting and sun were perfect for our shoot.
The day of, Laurel was texting me about the weather and they were super flexible with everything going on. Right at 6 she texted me saying her and her husband were in town and they were heading to the spot. When we got there they were pretending to take pictures of their kids. It was so cute. So far the pictures they sent us have been amazing and we had a great time taking pictures with them. We were laughing and having a great time.

We offer two session options to suit every couple’s needs:
Standard sessions: Capture the proposal and have enough time after a short engagement session and ring photos!
Extended sessions: Want to go from sea to summit or embark on an adventure through the park? Extended sessions are great for multiple locations or a quick proposal session with an engagement session at a later time or date.
Session Pricing
First, choose your session length:
Standard:
$400 session fee
up to 60 minutes
a private online viewing gallery of 70 or so watermarked images
a mobile app of 70 low-res photos of your choice (only viewable within the app)
Extended (per hour):
$400 for the first hour
$300 for each additional hour
a private online viewing gallery of 70 or so watermarked images per hour
a mobile app of 70 low-res photos of your choice (only viewable within the app)
Note:
We have a library of dozens of locations around the island already, but if you would like us to find a brand new and unique location we’re happy to, and a scouting fee may apply.
A hike-in fee may apply depending on which location you choose (summits, remote locations, etc.).
After viewing your gallery, purchase only the images you want.

full-res digitals for $15 each -OR- in bundles:
5 digitals - $70
10 digitals - $125
25 digitals - $275
entire gallery - $350 for the first hour, $200 for each additional hour

We can also help make your day even more special with our menu of session add-ons from champagne toasts, coffee and pastry breakfasts, personalized bouquets, or a special photo or letter placed at your photo spot before you arrive.
